If you take an urban design course at San Francisco State (like someone on Garrett Leight’s team did), you’ll study Hayes Street as a model for how modern streets should be designed (something about mixing commercial, residential, and entertainment.) GLCO carried that sentiment over to their ‘Hayes’ optical – a perfectly proportioned modern frame, universally flattering, and an assemblage of their classic design elements.
